Former royal hunting grounds of the Kings this forest was declared a Tiger Reserve in 1973 and since then various efforts have been made for the protection of National Animal of the country, the tiger. The deciduous forest of the National Park covers an area of 151 square miles including three natural ponds. It is home to some of the most featured and photographed tigers like Sita, Machli and others.
