If you want to see the Golden Triangle once and see it properly, the Classic tour is the one. It follows the original route, Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, and gives each stop a full day.
You start with a day in Delhi to settle in, see the Taj Mahal twice (late afternoon views from Agra Fort on day 3, then sunrise on day 4), and finish with a full day in Jaipur before the drive back. You travel in your own air-conditioned car with an English-speaking driver.
Our representative meets you at Delhi airport and transfers you to your hotel. After you rest and freshen up, we provide a short briefing about the days ahead so you know what to expect and can ask any questions. Overnight in Delhi.
After breakfast, begin your sightseeing in Old Delhi with the Red Fort and Jama Masjid, two important landmarks of Mughal Delhi. Then enjoy a rickshaw ride through the lanes of Chandni Chowk, one of the city's oldest markets, with an opportunity to try local street food if you wish.
Continue to Raj Ghat and India Gate, followed by visits to the Lotus Temple and Birla Mandir. We plan your visit to Qutub Minar for the late afternoon, when the light is ideal for photography. On the way back to your hotel, drive past Rashtrapati Bhavan. Overnight in Delhi.
Drive to Agra through green farmland and small villages. After checking in to your hotel, visit Agra Fort, an impressive red sandstone fortress offering views across the river towards the Taj Mahal.
Continue to Itimad-ud-Daulah, the tomb of a Mughal minister. Built entirely of marble, it is often called the Baby Taj because it preceded the Taj Mahal. Overnight in Agra.
Start early with a visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise, when the white marble changes colour and the crowds are generally smaller. Return to your hotel for breakfast and check out.
Then drive towards Jaipur, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri, the red sandstone city built by Emperor Akbar and later abandoned. Continue to Jaipur and arrive in the evening. Overnight in Jaipur.
Note: The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays. We plan your travel dates so that Day 4 does not fall on a Friday and rearrange the route if necessary.
Visit Amber Fort in the morning. Ascend by jeep or on foot, then explore Sheesh Mahal, the Hall of Mirrors, and Diwan-i-Aam, the Hall of Public Audience.
After lunch, visit Jantar Mantar, the 18th-century astronomical observatory, and City Palace, where you can see paintings, jewellery, weapons and royal costumes. In the evening, explore Jaipur's colourful bazaars at your own pace. Overnight in Jaipur.
If you enjoy early starts, we can take you to Nahargarh Fort to watch the sunrise over Jaipur. Return to your hotel for breakfast before driving to Delhi.
On arrival, we transfer you to the airport, railway station or your hotel for your onward journey. Evening flights are recommended for this day.

Choose the Classic Golden Triangle Tour if this is your first trip to India, you want to explore the famous sights at a comfortable pace, and you have six days to travel.

Tell us the hotel level you prefer, from 3-star to 5-star hotels and heritage palace stays, and we will plan your tour around it. A sedan suits one or two guests, an SUV such as a Toyota Innova suits three to five, a Tempo Traveller suits six to ten, and coaches are available for larger groups. All vehicles are air-conditioned, and luggage space depends on the vehicle, so please tell us about your bags when you enquire.
October to March is the most comfortable season for this route. In December and January, early mornings can be foggy, which sometimes affects sunrise views at the Taj Mahal, so we keep your schedule flexible. From April to September, the weather is hot, with monsoon rain from July, but tourist sites are quieter. For travel between October and March, we suggest booking three to four months ahead.

The light is softer, the marble looks different through the morning, and it is quieter than midday. We plan Agra over two days so you can also see the Taj Mahal's setting from Agra Fort on Day 3.
The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays. Tell us your arrival date and we will reorder the route, usually by going to Jaipur first.
Day 1 is kept free so you can rest after your flight, and we do the main Delhi sightseeing on Day 2. If you arrive early in the morning and feel fresh, we can add a short visit.
